"Water off a ducks back"

This is a glimpse of the 2002 event.

If you want proof of how good this festival is take a look at some of these photos. Things did go wrong last year but even John Tallon could not have stopped the unbelievable rain that fell. To say "water of a ducks back" would be an understatement. Not one complaint was made by any of the great country fans that attended and the staff was incredible.

There was laughter and jokes flying around the water filled marquee as the staff attacked the problem and they did drain not only the huge marquee but also the whole area around. All the staff worked around the clock to ensure this great festival continued. Just take a look…The first photo was the main exit in. Second photo was the exit out! Come on Wish Bone...Dig faster.

.

Now big Paul who had dug out three rivers's to drain the area! Wasn't best pleased to see one of the staff fishing in his best water whole inside the marquee….

.

Paul was without doubt the star of this event like all the staff he worked so hard to ensure the show went on. A huge well done to you all. It didn't rain all the time and when the rain stopped it was business as usual. Mind You….. Some of us got a soaking in the sun!!

.

We got Shanghide into a full western ice cold bath, didn't we Mr. Ringo!! Mind you it was worth it as some £380.00 was raised for charity. You just wait Mr. Johnny Ringo.

The Blues & Greys had their war (The War Of Shit Creek) so I was told! I am sorry to say I forgot who won. Notice not a spot of mud on em!!

.

Come rain or shine you just put on what yer want at this festival. This festival does attract some of the best-dressed westerners I have seen.

.

Could yer spare Ten pence Please!

As for good hearted people, a young lady found a dog in the street just outside the venue. The dog was in bad shape so she took it to the nearest vet. The bill came to well over £80. Johnny Ringo got wind of this and asked every one to chip in 10 pence. With less than one hour the money had been raised. Great story or what? The icing on the cake for me, was when Johnny asked the lady to stay in the compound for the rest of the duration and to keep away from sick animals. Great stuff. All too soon the end came with the Tallons wishing everyone well.

Many thanks to all the staff for a superb festival Looking forward to seeing you all again this year.

Johnny & The Boss Lorraine.
